Iris · WhatsApp assistant

The WhatsApp your clients already use, answered by an assistant that knows their file.

Iris is FirmsNest’s WhatsApp assistant for your clients. A client messages on WhatsApp, Iris verifies who they are, answers from the portal, and hands off to your team when a person is needed.

Managed & isolated Verifies the client Redacted, opt-in

Your firm on WhatsApp Verified client

Has my ITR been filed?

Yes. Your ITR for AY 2025–26 was filed on 12 July. The acknowledgement is in your portal under Filings. Anything else?

Answered live from the portal, on a managed, isolated channel.

Your clients will always reach for WhatsApp. The question is which one.

The problem was never WhatsApp. It was running a practice on your personal chats: no record, mixed in with family messages, no check on who is asking, nothing logged. Iris keeps the channel your clients like and makes it safe.

Personal WhatsApp

  • Client files mixed in with personal chats
  • No check that the sender is really your client
  • Status answered from memory, if at all
  • Nothing logged, nothing retained

WhatsApp, with Iris

  • A managed, isolated WhatsApp channel
  • Every sender verified before anything is shared
  • Status pulled live from the portal, in plain language
  • Conversations logged and redacted, kept per firm

How Iris works

Verify, answer from the portal, hand off.

Iris follows the same three steps on every message, so a client gets a straight answer and your team stays in control of the conversation.

01

Verify the client

Before Iris shares anything, it confirms the sender is a real client of your firm. One firm’s clients can never reach another firm’s records.

02

Answer from the portal

Iris pulls the answer live from the portal, in plain language: where the engagement stands, what is pending, whether it is filed. It surfaces the record; it does not compute, file or advise.

03

Hand off to your CA

When a client wants a person, the conversation moves to your firm’s Messages inbox. Your CA replies from the console, Iris pauses, and picks back up once it is resolved.

The questions that fill your phone during season.

Iris answers the routine status questions from the portal, so your team is freed for the work only a CA can do.

Where things stand

The current status of an engagement, in words a client understands.

What is still pending

Which documents your firm is still waiting on, so the client knows what to send.

Payment status

Whether a fee is due, paid or receipted, without a screenshot in sight.

Is it filed?

Whether a return is filed, and where the acknowledgement sits in the portal.

Iris surfaces what the portal already holds. It does not compute a return, file anything, or give professional advice. That judgement stays with your firm.

Managed, opt-in, redacted

Safe by construction, not by policy.

Iris carries the same data discipline as the rest of FirmsNest. The channel is managed and isolated, the client chooses in, and nothing sensitive is left lying in a log.

A managed, isolated channel

Iris answers on a WhatsApp Business number FirmsNest operates, linked to FirmsNest Business and connected through Meta’s WhatsApp Cloud API or Twilio. You connect nothing and maintain nothing; the safety is in how the channel is managed.

Opt-in, and verified

Clients choose to reach you on WhatsApp, and Iris verifies each sender is a client of your firm before it shares a thing.

Redacted conversation logs

Logs are redacted: no raw PAN, Aadhaar or bank details are kept in the stores. The India-resident model reads only what it needs to answer.

One firm can never see another

Per-firm isolation is enforced in the database, so one firm’s conversations can never reach another firm’s clients or records.

See how FirmsNest handles data

Two assistants, one practice: a front desk and a back office.

Iris faces your clients on WhatsApp. Lipik works inside the portal for your team. Both run on India-sovereign AI from Sarvam, never train on your data, and never give professional advice.

You’re here

Iris, the front desk

Client-facing, on WhatsApp. Verifies the client, answers status questions from the portal, and hands off to your CA when a person is needed.

Lipik, the back office

In-portal and CA-facing. Reads your firm’s documents, pulls out the figures, and drafts working papers for your review.

What firms ask about Iris.

What is Iris?

Iris is FirmsNest’s WhatsApp assistant for a CA firm’s clients. A client messages on WhatsApp, Iris verifies who they are, and answers status questions pulled live from the portal in plain language.

Whose WhatsApp number does Iris use?

A WhatsApp Business number FirmsNest operates, linked to FirmsNest Business and connected through Meta’s WhatsApp Cloud API or Twilio. It is a managed channel, not a number your firm owns or brings. The safety is in how it is managed: Iris verifies each sender and binds them to a single firm before it shares anything, and per-firm isolation is enforced in the database.

How does Iris know the person is really my client?

Iris verifies and connects first. It confirms the sender is a real client of that firm before it shares anything, then answers. One firm’s conversations can never reach another firm’s clients.

What can Iris answer?

Engagement status, which documents are pending, payment status, and whether a return is filed, all pulled live from the portal in plain language. Iris surfaces the record; it does not compute, file or advise.

Can Iris give tax advice or file a return?

No. Iris is not a tax, audit or legal adviser, and it never computes or files. It answers routine status questions and hands off to your team for anything that needs a person. For back-office document work, that is Lipik’s job, not Iris’s.

What happens when a client needs a person?

Iris hands off. The conversation appears in your firm’s Messages inbox, your CA replies from the console, Iris pauses, and it resumes after the CA resolves the thread or about an hour of quiet.

Is client data safe on WhatsApp with Iris?

Iris runs on an India-resident model, conversation logs are redacted so no raw PAN, Aadhaar or bank details are kept in the stores, the channel is opt-in, and per-firm isolation is enforced in the database.

How is Iris different from Lipik?

Iris is the front desk: client-facing, on WhatsApp. Lipik is the back office: in-portal and CA-facing, reading documents and drafting working papers for your team. Both run on India-sovereign AI from Sarvam and never train on your data.
